BRUCE SPAULDING - APPLYING MAKE-UP. (n.d.). [DVD] USA: STAN WINSTON SCHOOL.

There was no demonstration of this - only an online picture gallery. However, from the pictures it is clear that the process went as follows:

1. Wrap models hair and apply bald cap

2. Apply the cowl, followed by the neck prosthetic

3. Get the model to insert her own eye contacts

4. Continue to apply facial prosthetics

5. Apply hand pieces by disolving the cap plastic edge with alcohol

6. Add finishing touches of colours using skin illustrator and airbrush colours

NOTES FROM TUTORIAL:

- Apply bald cap

- Mix platgel 10 A&B and add flocking and non-latex sponge over face to act as adhesive

NOTE: advantage of using silicone as an adhesives means thats it will not irritate eyes as it is not a solvent, it is also easy to remove and just peels off the skin.

- Colour with skin illustrator, darken around the eyes

Concealing thick edges:

- Apply pros-aide bondo or cabo patch with a small brush, Q-tip, or dental spatula. Hairdry and powder over to remove tackiness

- Duo eyelash adhesive/liquid latex

Telesis is a good adhesive as the thinner allows it be repositioned once set

Foam latex

- best coloured with rubber mask greasepaint (Kryolan, Graftobian, Mehron)

- best applied with a stippling sponge

Bondo - acrylic adhesive and good for covering edges

Pros-aide - water based adhesive which adheres for long periods of time. Used within medical prosthetics. Suitable on all skin types.

Telesis 5 - useful for bonding pro-gel 10.

Telesis 5 thinner - keeps the adhesive more fluid and reduces the quantity and overall price

Telesis 7 - low viscosity, water and perspiration resistant. Ability to retact. Quicker to use then telesis 5 as does not require thinner.

Elatosil - transparent.

Super solv - adhesive remover without damaginf appliances. Non-oily and harmful.

Super solv plus - for sensitive skin

Beta solv - removes beta bond adhesives. Odorless and non oily

Beta bond - polymer acrylic adhesive, dries clear, can be mixed with water/alcohol/acrylic paints.
