WHAT WENT WELL AND HOW DID I ACHIEVE THIS?
-
The hair was wrapped flat and securely to the head with no stray hairs. This meant that the head measurements would measure more accurately.
-
The template was strong and rigid which restricted much movement making it a more accurate representation of my models head. I achieved this by layering a number of cellotape layers to build up the thickness.

EVALUATION:
WHAT WENT WELL AND HOW DID I ACHIEVE THIS?
-
In general, I found that the PS composites cap plastic produced a more successful bald cap because it was smoother and thinner. This is because the mixture was much thinner and applied smoothly. As a result, I will use this material to make my bald cap for my film and assessment as it will create a smoother blending edge which will look neater and more professional.
WHAT DIDN'T GO WELL AND HOW DID I OVERCOME THIS/WHAT DO I NEED TO CONSIDER FOR NEXT TIME?
-
The Charles Fox bald cap was much thicker with a bumpy texture - this was because the material is much thicker which made it go on the surface less smoothly. I also found that if I did not let the plastic dry completely between layers when I applied the next, it would lift up some of the previous layer and create holes or raised areas, where as I did not have this problem with the Ps composite cap plastic. As a consequence, I will use this bald cap when lifecasting my model.
